Today I’m sharing my recipe for homemade soap with vinegar and baking soda; I only ask for a simple “Thank you” in return.

Ingredients needed

To prepare approximately 1.2 kg of paste soap (4-5 containers of 250g), you will need:

Main base

  • 400g of grated laundry soap or soap scraps (cleaning base)
  • 2 1/2 cups of water (to dissolve and unify)

Cleaning boosters

  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda (mild abrasive and deodorizer)
  • 1/2 cup liquid dish soap (lathers and degreasers)
  • 1/2 cup of powdered detergent (for tough stains)

Natural disinfectants

  • 1 cup of apple cider vinegar (antibacterial and brightening)
  • 1/2 cup of table salt (abrasive and preservative)
  • 1/2 cup of alcohol (disinfectant and drying accelerator)

Step-by-step preparation

Step 1: Preparing the base soap

Finely grate 400g of laundry soap or soap scraps. Use a grater with medium holes to obtain flakes that dissolve easily.

Stage 2: Initial dissolution

In a large pot (at least 3 liters), heat 2 1/2 cups of water over medium heat. When it is hot (but not boiling), add the grated soap and stir slowly with a wooden spoon to avoid excessive foaming.

Stage 3: Creation of the base paste

Stir constantly for 10-15 minutes until you obtain a smooth, thick mixture. The consistency should be similar to a soft paste, without lumps.

Step 4: Incorporation of ingredients

Remove from heat and add in this order, mixing well after each ingredient:

  1. Baking soda (may fizz slightly)
  2. Liquid dish soap (until fully incorporated)
  3. Powdered detergent (sprinkle to avoid lumps)
  4. Apple cider vinegar (in a thin stream)
  5. Table salt (for thickening)
  6. Alcohol (as the last ingredient)

Stage 5: Molding and hardening

Pour the mixture into plastic molds (such as margarine tubs) and let it sit for 24-48 hours in a cool, dry place. The soap will be ready when it reaches a firm but malleable consistency.
