Now, I want to share some simple, effective, and environmentally friendly tips you can use to fight ants.

Clean with soap and water

If you have been invaded by ants, the first thing is to locate where they are entering. Once you have done that, you can try a trick with just two ingredients – soap and water.

Thoroughly wash the areas where ants usually enter and pour soap and water around the front door. You can also dip your finger in soap and draw it in the corner where you see the ants tend to enter. Soon, you will notice they move on.

The reason is that soap disrupts the ants’ scent trail, which the scouts lay down as a signal to other ants indicating the entry point.

Cinnamon against ants

Another well-known household tip for getting rid of ants is using cinnamon. This spice has a very strong smell, so ants usually avoid places that smell of cinnamon.
Using cinnamon against ants is very simple. Mix some cinnamon with water and dip a cotton ball in it.

Then, wipe along moldings or cracks where you have seen ants, and repeat about once a day until they have left your home for new foraging grounds.
